current: "ansicht.sache"- Tone FINK
on the gallery work in the exhibition; read more ...
One of the greats of the Austrian art scene turned 80 this year!
For this reason we celebrate with him and present a cross-section
of his works in the Hrobsky Gallery, the beginning of a challenging exhibition year.
Tone Fink calls what he puts on paper -
"line dance" („Linientanz“) |
"flow of paper speech" („Papierredefluß“) |
"condensation of evidence" („Hinterweissverdichtung“) |
- because paper is his medium here.
He draws on paper, stacks it and cuts it up into a "splinter world". He fills art books with hundreds of drawings. He creates animal masks, clothes, furniture and vehicles out of paper. Nothing inspires him as enduringly as this delicate, hard-wearing material, which tears so easily and is so simple to mend, not repair (!).
To this end, we recall our vision, which manifests itself in thought:
"In these turbulent times, we want to be a fabulous place where people have the right to engage positively with the present and with beauty, without turning off reality!"
